You will rue the coming...but you will be too cowardly to admit its pain. I have traveled and seen how others live, tell me SON, what does it have to do with how we live? Why should we,as you insinuate, readjust our lifestyle because of the plight of those less fortunate?
Scott, as you obviously are not understanding, is merely saying, why should we have something many of us do not want being forced on us when the 'administrators' of this fiasco are treating themselves to health and retirement plans that are superior to what "We the People" have.
Study both sides of an issue, learn to think for yourself and not merely digest all that is being dished out to you. But as toadstool said,"being from California I don't expect you to understand this" either.

do you have a good reason why federal employees and members of congress should be allowed to opt out of this proposal, other than an ad hominem attack?
Reply - Quote

Errrr...if this proposal hits the real world "ie, the world outside of LA" seniors with Medicare will lose access to health care services through crowd out, as all these new beneficiaries try to find care, and provider loss ,as physicians as they opt of of providing medical care seeing as the half of the cost not covered by raising their taxes is being raised by cutting Medicare fees.

In the real world, folks must spend less than they make, but being from California I don't expect you to understand this.

As insures flee to subsidized public programs, the private insurance pool diminishes and the cost of that insurance increases. So Scott will indeed have the public plan forced down his throat. You are not being honest because that is what you want, a single pay system where the services deemed as valuable are determined by the government instead of by the consumer.

This bill is all expansion of an entitlement with no reform. It is being sold as a vehicle for universal coverage and cost control. It does neither. In the end, the only folks who will be able to get care are those who can pay out of pocket for it, and the ranks of the underserved will get even larger.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('3679','toadstool','JF\r\n\r\nErrrr...if this proposal hits the real world \"ie, the world outside of LA\" seniors with Medicare will lose access to health care services through crowd out, as all these new beneficiaries try to find care, and provider loss ,as physicians as they opt of of providing medical care seeing as the half of the cost not covered by raising their taxes is being raised by cutting Medicare fees.\r\n\r\nIn the real world, folks must spend less than they make, but being from California I don\'t expect you to understand this.\r\n\r\n\r\nAs insures flee to subsidized public programs, the private insurance pool diminishes and the cost of that insurance increases. No one is forcing anything down your throat. Simply continue with you current coverage and quit whining. The coming public option will be vastly superior to what is available now to the uninsured. Get out in the field and travel son and see the way the world really is and you will lose this pompous attitude of yours when you see the suffering of real people.

For those like me and so many of the physicians that I advise, I can only begin to realize that the legislative process is arduous and fraught with partisanship. All I need to do is recollect is the last conversation I had with one of our elected representatives, to be reminded of the artful legislators' doublespeak on the subject of health care. Perhaps it is the plight of the legislatively uninformed, but does the gravity of a broken healthcare system effectively weigh on the minds of people on the Hill? Amid all the squabbling and petty partisan interests that divide them, do Congressmen and Senators truly envision what the weight of relentless costs increases will do to this country?
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('3333','Christopher Gregory','For those like me and so many of the physicians that I advise, I can only begin to realize that the legislative process is arduous and fraught with partisanship.
Keith,
The American people need to ask their Congressmen and Senators if they'll be Opting Out of their current "Cadillac Health Plans"
and joining the rest of us in the "Public Plan" that they're going to SHOVE DOWN OUR THROATS!!
When the Politicians answer "No", the Taxpayers should ask 'Why Not"?
Real Answer: The Public Plan isn't GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM!! (But, It's Good Enough for Us - RIGHT????
